USMC CFT calculator
Score the 880-yard Movement to Contact, two-minute 30-pound Ammunition Lift, and 300-yard Maneuver Under Fire against the official age- and sex-banded tables. See the event minimums, total class, and the exact gap to the next class.
Enter the final MANUF time after the official grenade result: five seconds are deducted for a hit and five seconds added for a miss. The Ammunition Lift uses a 30-pound can from shoulder height to overhead for two minutes.

The three CFT events, literally
Movement to Contact is a timed 880-yard run on a measured, reasonably level course. Ammunition Lift is as many correct overhead lifts as possible in two minutes with a 30-pound M2A1 5.56 mm ammunition can. Maneuver Under Fire is a timed 300-yard shuttle that combines crawls, buddy drags and carries, ammunition resupply, a grenade throw, five push-ups, and agility running.
Those names are the official event names in Chapter 3 of MCO 6100.13A. MANUF is not just a sprint estimate: the recorded time changes by five seconds for the grenade throw. Enter the adjusted time that would be scored, not a watch split captured before the hit or miss adjustment.
Classes and event minimums
| CFT class | Official point band | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 1st class | 235–300 | Highest published class |
| 2nd class | 200–234 | Middle published class |
| 3rd class | 150–199 | Minimum passing class |
Each event minimum is worth 40 points, so three minimum performances total only 120. A Marine needs at least 150 points for 3rd class, and must meet all three event minimums. A fast MTC and high lift count cannot rescue a MANUF time outside its age- and sex-specific minimum.
Altitude and terrain
At 4,500 feet or more, the order uses Table 3-6 for Movement to Contact and Table 3-7 for Maneuver Under Fire after a 30-day acclimatization period. Ammunition Lift receives no altitude compensation. The altitude standards are separate lookup tables, not one universal number of seconds added to every age band.
There is no published rough-terrain bonus. MTC must be measured over reasonably level ground without excessive sharp turns, and MANUF should use a smooth, level grass or indoor turf surface at least 100 yards long. A practice course that departs from that setup may be useful training, but its time is not equivalent to the official course.
PFT and CFT measure different things
The PFT isolates upper-body repetitions, trunk endurance, and a three-mile aerobic effort. The CFT compresses running, repeated overhead work, carries, crawls, changes of direction, and task execution into three short events. A first-class result in one does not imply a first-class result in the other; Marines take and are classified on both separately.
