Movement screen scorer

Functional Movement Screen composite scorer

Enter the trained rater's 0–3 scores for all seven FMS patterns, including both sides and pain-clearing tests, to calculate the 0–21 composite.

Seven movement patterns

Choose the observed score for each side. Bilateral patterns use the lower side; pain on a clearing test forces that pattern to zero.

Deep squat
Hurdle step
In-line lunge
Shoulder mobility
Active straight-leg raise
Trunk stability push-up
Rotary stability

FMS COMPOSITE
21 / 21

Above the studied cut-off

A score above 14 is outside that study's higher-risk group, but it does not prove that a person is injury-free or ready for a specific load.

Per-pattern scores

  • Deep squat — 3
  • Hurdle step — 3
  • In-line lunge — 3
  • Shoulder mobility — 3
  • Active straight-leg raise — 3
  • Trunk stability push-up — 3
  • Rotary stability — 3

How the composite is calculated

The seven-test structure and 0–3 scoring follow Cook, Burton, and Hoogenboom (2006), parts 1 and 2. Each bilateral pattern contributes its lower side, and a positive clearing test sets its linked pattern to zero, for a maximum composite of 21.
