How to read the FFMI chart
The formula is the same for both sexes, but context differs because average lean mass differs. At 180 cm normalization changes nothing; at other heights the Kouri correction makes frames comparable.

Is FFMI calculated differently for men and women?
No. The equation is the same, but population averages and useful interpretation differ because average lean mass differs by sex.
What does normalized FFMI change?
It adjusts raw FFMI toward a reference height of 1.80 m, making comparisons across different heights less distorted.
